a silly place where penguins would steal rocks and orcas would eat penguins

A landscape panorama from Antarctica with rocky outcrops sitting in front of icy sea which extends to the horizon.

I sat atop a volcanic mountain here in Antarctica for ages, watching the penguins like a pretend biologist. I tried to analyze their movements and actions, but found them all to be inscrutable and mostly insane. They honestly spent most of their time stealing rocks from other little batches of penguins to make their nest, rather than going to get new rocks. It occurred to me that when you have no real predators and only have a 0.1% chance of dying, you can spend most of your day doing insane things. When not stealing rocks, they would go dive into the sea ice on the right to fish.
